The Waterbury Office is located in the Waterbury Youth Services Building at 83 Prospect Street, Waterbury, CT 06702.
Free parking is available in the parking lot at the corner of Grove and Prospect Streets.
(Handicapped Parking spaces are available directly in front of the building.)
Office hours are 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.

We offer a comprehensive range of free services designed to assist those seeking employment, including:

COMPUTER BASICS CLASSES

These classes are designed to give participants the basic skills necessary to conduct a more effective internet-based job search. The 4-part Workshop includes:

  • Introduction to Computers – For the person with no or very limited computer knowledge. It describes the components and their functions.
  • Windows and Word Basics – Becoming familiar with the Windows Operating System and how to create, save and retrieve documents.
  • Navigating the Internet and Email – How to search for (and find) information on-line; creating and using an email account.
  • Internet Job Search – Using job board web sites; filling out on-line applications; uploading resume to applications.

OPEN COMPUTER LAB/CAREER CENTER

The Computer Lab/Career Center is available Mon – Fri*, 9am-2pm. The center services include free internet, computer and printer, fax machine, copier and telephone use. There is a wide range of reference material available and the Job Board is updated on a daily basis. The computers also have tutorial programs to help build key-boarding and other skills.

JOB SEARCH SKILLS WORKSHOPS AND INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE

We offer variety of workshops to help build job-searching skills – Resume Writing, Interview Preparation, Cover Letters and References, Managing the Stress of Job Loss. Individualized, one-on-one counseling and assistance is also available.

INFORMATION, ADVOCACY AND REFERRAL

In addition to helping with employment services, we also offer assistance with Unemployment and Workers Compensation claims and appeals; Immigration services; financial literacy and a variety of basic human needs services.

Kimberly Keane
Kimberly KeaneCommunity Services Coordinator
Kim moved to Connecticut from New York in 1982 and has been a part of the Waterbury community ever since. She was Director of the East End Senior Center for nine years prior to coming to the John J. Driscoll United Labor Agency in 1998. She oversaw our Older Worker Program for many years and has been a part of many other employment training and community service programs and has provided a wide range of supportive services for people throughout the State of Connecticut. Lourdes GonzalezCommunity Services Coordinator
Lourdes Gonzalez has been a Waterbury resident all her life and her educational endeavors are as follows: Bachelor of Science in Marketing, an Associate in Human Services-Pre Social Work, General Studies, and a certificate in Child and Family Services. I am bilingual (English/Spanish) and have numerous financial certifications as well such as AAPA, AIRC, and ACS. Previous to coming to United Labor Agency, Lourdes worked at St Vincent DePaul Homeless Center as a case manager on their preventative homeless program designed specifically towards housing, employment or disability issues.
