Our Rocky Hill office serves primarily as our administrative office and is typically open Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. At this location we handle the billing, contracts, grant writing, and general day to day functions of the agency. While we generally do not see clients from this location we do run a few programs out of this location including:

  • BRS/DORS contracts
  • Building Pathways
  • Commodity Supplemental Food Program
  • Holiday Toy Packing and Distribution

Meet Our Staff

Amy R. Blackwood
Amy R. BlackwoodExecutive Director
Amy has been the Executive Director of the John J. Driscoll United Labor Agency since 2011 and the Director of Community Engagement for the CT AFL-CIO since 2015. Before that, she worked with ULA as a Community Services Coordinator from 2009-2011. Amy has an extensive background in developing and presenting training materials. She occasionally works part time with community colleges throughout the state offering her skills as a trainer. She has developed and taught many employment related courses including Grant Writing Basics, Advanced Grant Writing, Personal Branding, and Employment Retooling Workshop for State Employees. Jennifer Chester
Jennifer ChesterAccountant
Jennifer Chester joined The John J. Driscoll United Labor Agency as an accountant in January 2017. Jennifer prepares accounting work and grant-related reports and schedules to support financial reports to the board. Her daily duties include processing transactions pertaining to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and other financial activities within the organization. When Jennifer became a member of the staff, she brought with her over 20 years’ experience in the financial sector. Read More

Kasey CornwellJob Coach
Kasey Cornwell is a Job Coach with the John J. Driscoll United Labor Agency. While attending Eastern Connecticut State University, Kasey interned with the United Labor Agency in the Summer of 2013. While interning Kasey assisted with the Labor of Love Backpack program, updated and maintained John J. Driscoll United Labor Agency’s social media presence, designed flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing material for major events and assisted with the updates to the website when needed. Kasey Graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in May of 2014. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication. While there she also studied sociology and business. Read More

Katherine MamedCommunity Services Coordinator
Katherine has been a Community Services Coordinator with the John J. Driscoll United Labor Agency since 2013 but has worked with ULA since 2011 as an intern and then as a consultant teaching introductory computer classes in our Waterbury office. Katherine has a certificate in Child & Family Services and an Associate’s Degree in Human Services, both from Naugatuck Valley Community College and is currently working toward her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services at the University of Bridgeport.
